My Featured Writer of the Day

Today’s featured writer is my good friend, “Fingerpaints.” I first discovered her work in late 2009 through Dreamerfiction.com, and she has written several Guy of Gisborne stories, but my absolute favorite is a story called “Cherish.”

The story begins pre-season one of the series. Guy is the main player, of course. But it is his female companion who is the heart and soul of this story. Imogen is a young Irish woman, a servant, who is taken under Guy’s wing after he rescues her from the Sheriff’s clutches. Despite her youth (She is only a teenager), she becomes Guy’s lover. While this has its romantic elements, the author doesn’t make the relationship easy for Guy nor Imogen. Much like the dark knight we all know, this Guy of Gisborne is not always likeable. In fact, there were moments when I wanted to slap him silly. My heart went out to Imogen, who loves Sir Guy madly but has to endure his often boorish behavior, and of course his blind love of Lady Marian. Both Guy and Imogen suffer in their love for one another, sometimes in cruel ways. But the road to true love is never easy, and when this story came to it's wonderful conclusion, I was sad to say goodbye to the characters.

Fingerpaints is a busy lady these days. She’s a teacher with a huge workload on her shoulders, so she doesn’t have much time to write. But what she has written is lovely collection of Guy stories, and I would highly recommend taking a look at them. They can be found on Dreamerfiction. If you are not a member, I would suggest becoming one, because there is a wealth of talent to be found there. Here’s the direct link to Fingerpaint's work on DF.

I should mention that you need a recommendation to become a member of DF, but just give my name and it shouldn't be a problem. :)

Happy Reading!

  6. Sounds like a fascinating story. I would love to see fanfiction available for the Kindle. I know I can copy and paste each part into a document and convert it, but it would be great for busy people to be able to have stories in one file. :) Just a suggestion.

  7. One of the best things about the RA-ganza, other than Richard Armitage of course, is the wonderful new blogs that you can discover!

  8. Can you give any tips on how to become a member of DF? I have been a member of C19 for more than two years, but only occasionally post comments.

It seems that they want to verify your age, but I don't have anyway practical way of proving that. FWIW, I am in my late 40s.
